What We Believe
We believe…
That the Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, are verbally inspired by God and are the revelation of God to man, the infallible, authoritative, and sufficient rule of faith and conduct (II Tim. 3:15-17; I Thes. 2:13; II Peter 1:21).
That there is but one true God, the eternal and self-existent Creator of all, who reveals Himself in three Persons as Father, Son, and Holy Ghost (Gen. 1:1,26; Deut. 6:4; I John 5:7).
In the Deity of the Lord Jesus Christ (John 1:1-4,14).
That Adam fell by voluntary transgression, though he was originally created good and upright (Gen. 1:26-27; 2:17; 3:6; Romans 5:12-19) and that by his fall sin has passed unto all mankind.
That the forgiveness of sin is found only in the substitutionary work of Jesus Christ on the cross of Calvary by God's grace through faith (Acts 4:12; Rom. 6:23; Eph. 2:8-9).
That sanctification is God's work in man, experienced by faith, through the cross of Christ, that delivers him from the penalty and power of sin, resulting in separation from that which is evil, and dedication unto God. In this work, the believer increasingly submits to and matures in the Lordship of Christ (Luke 9:23-24; Rom. 6; Rom.12:1-2; Gal. 2:20).
That the ordinances of the Church are baptism by immersion in water and the Lord's Supper (Mat. 28:19; Mark 16:16; I Cor. 11:23-26).
That the baptism in the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in other tongues (Acts 1:8; 10:44-46; Eph. 5:18), and the gifts of the Holy Spirit are for today (Rom. 12:3-8; I Cor. 12-14; Eph: 4:7-13), and did not cease at the close of the apostolic age. Such experiences are subject to the guidelines and divine order as set forth in holy Scripture (I Cor. 12-14).
The Church's blessed hope is the return of Christ, the resurrection of those who have fallen asleep in Christ, and their translation together with those who are alive and remain (Mark 4:29, I Cor. 15:51,52; I Thes. 4,5; Titus 2:13). All believers will appear before the judgment seat of Christ, Who will establish His Millennial Kingdom on earth (Zech 14:5; I Cor. 3:11-15; II Cor. 5:10; Rev. 19:11-14). There will be a final judgment at which time those whose names are not found in the Book of Life will be eternally sentenced to the lake of fire originally prepared for the Devil and his angels (Mat. 25:46; Rev. 20:11-15; 21:8). Then will come the new heaven, the new earth, and the heavenly city in which the saints of all ages will enjoy their eternal home with their Lord (II Peter 3:13; Rev. 21,22).
