Two Good Men

Philippians 2:19-30 focuses on two good men- Timothy and Epaphroditus. From Paul's words about these men we learn much about our relationships, about Christian character, and about having hearts that are oriented toward the Lord.

Jesus' Example

In Philippians 2:5-11 we find Jesus' example of humility and death on the cross. We find this same example used in I Peter 2:13-:3:12 and Ephesians 5:22-25. Jesus' example teaches us how we are to relate to each other.

Keep it Together!

Unity is important to health. A physical body cannot be healthy when it is at war with itself. Neither can a marriage, a family, or a church family. In Phil. 2:1-4 the apostle Paul appeals to the Philippians to guard and promote their unity.

Philippian Trials

The Philippians were experiencing some of the same trials that Paul was experiencing. Our sufferings can be brought on ourselves, imposed on us by others, the result of simply being creatures, or suffering for Christ's sake. Phil. 1:27-30 offers great insights into how to handle trials.

Paul's Trials

As Paul wrote to the Philippians he was facing three major trials: imprisonment, ministerial opposition, and possible death. How he handled these trials provides a model for us to follow.

A Healthy Church

The Philippian church was a healthy church. It was, in fact, one of the most outstanding churches of the apostolic era. In Philippians 1:1-11 we begin to see some of the characteristics that made it so healthy. How's your health?

True humility impacts us in some very deep ways. It affects the way we view sin and sanctification. It teaches us that perfectionism is an impossibility. It also encourages us to face our weaknesses, limitations and to embrace our humanity.

The Life of Faith

Pleasing God in our life requires us to live in and walk by faith.
Kaleb Carroll shares his testimony from time away at the ALERT
Academy, with a special emphasis on dependence on God by faith to
persevere through adversity. Matt Carroll concludes the message with
a challenge to apply faith to our daily lives.

Recipe for Revival

In the book of Acts the early church walked in much
fruitfulness. By studying their example and obeying the scriptural
truths in Acts 2:42 we can have modern day revival. Brother Mike
teaches that believers can have revival if they will act upon the
truths to be steadfastly devoted to the word of God, fellowship,
breaking of bread and prayers.

The Mark of Living Faith

We look at three Crises facing the nation of Israel in
Elijah's day. Idolatry led to silence, lack of leadership, and the
loss of distinction; some of the same crises that face the church and
our nation today. The answer to these crises is provided in the mark
of living faith demonstrated through Elijah who provided leadership, a
voice, and the demonstration of God's power giving us an example to
follow today.
