Knowing God- Part 23

There is possibly no attribute of God more central to the Gospel message than His grace. However much we speak about God's grace it may be that we still don't understand it well. God's grace rests upon certain facts and these need to be carefully examined if we are to properly appreciate this great attribute of God.

Knowing God- Part 22

We examine the following definition of God's love by J.I. Packer: "An exercise of His goodness toward individual sinners whereby, having identified Himself with their welfare, He has given His Son to be their Savior, and now brings them to know and enjoy Him in a covenant relation."

Knowing God- Part 21

God is love, yet this is not the end of the story. He is also spirit and light. These truths work together to reveal to us a God whose love is absolute, yet whose love is not in isolation from His holiness and justice.

Knowing God- Part 20

Knowing God- Part 17

Wisdom is a communicable attribute of God. We will never have the fullness of His wisdom, but He does share with us a limited version of His wisdom. God's wisdom is inherent within Him, ours is derived from our reverence of Him and our devotion to His Word.

Knowing God- Part 16

When we consider the wisdom of God and His dealings in our lives one of the questions that arises is, "What about trials?" How are we to view His wisdom in times of intense suffering? How we view suffering, and how we understand the source of suffering, has a tremendous impact on how we relate to God.

Knowing God- Part 15

The wisdom of God can be clearly seen in His dealings with men such as Abraham, Jacob, and Joseph. His orchestration and use of the events of their lives demonstrates a God Who does all things well. He does what He does for our good and for His glory.

Knowing God- Part 14

Our God is not just a personal God, He is also the God of all majesty. Furthermore, His wisdom is perfect. In our smallness we are prone to fear, doubt, and discouragement, but our God is completely trustworthy.
